With "Behind the Collection", we aspire to bring a new idea for the public eye to look into each pieces within the collection in the multitude of ways they are initially being presented; through the lens of their creator(s).
On this "Behind the Collection", we're taking on the In Full Bloom collection: Pamela Wirjadinata x Love and Flair. The head-to-toe collection marries together featured 8 most-renowned local Indonesian brands with business owner and influencer Pamela Wirjadinata serving as the muse and source of inspiration. This time, the floor is gifted to Starry; a womenswear brand defined by its feminine impressions and a touch of classic silhouettes that gently hug the wearer, emitting a sense of romantic dreams. How would you describe Pamela and how did her personal style impact the designs we see in this collection?
A strong passionate, compassionate leader who radiates warmth and kindness! She knows what she wants and she owns it, she is also sophisticated and elegant with her distinct minimalist style. Pamela’s identity had a great impact on the overall designs of the collection: strong silhouettes with a clean and elegant look.
The color palette in this collection is stunning! What inspires it?
Her wedding theme! Monochromatic with a touch of floral prints.
Your pieces in this collection are all super cohesive and the craftsmanship looks insane! What was the creative process like and how was your experience working with Pamela for her first collaboration ever?
I designed 5 looks and presented them to Pamela and the Love and Flair team. We discussed the fabrication and Pamela expressed great advice which facilitated the whole process to run smoothly! After the meeting, we proceeded to make the samples and after minor adjustments the collection was done. The process could not have been carried out any smoother, considering all the meetings were done online! I’m glad that Pamela loves the designs and the proposed fabrications.
What do you hope people will feel when wearing pieces from this collection?
I hope that women would emit confidence when wearing any pieces from this collection, to help them conquer the day, to believe in themselves and to realize their strength and beauty.
